MP Magoola warns against political propaganda ahead of 2026

Bugweri Woman MP, Hon. Racheal Magoola arriving for the commissioning of classroom blocks at Bumoozi Primary school on Monday, November 25, 2024

Bugweri, (UG):- The Woman Member of Parliament for Bugweri District, Hon. Racheal Magoola alias Obangaina has asked her electorate to prioritize development by engaging in government programmes other than relying on propaganda intended to tarnish and undermine politicians ahead of 2026 general elections.

Hon Magoola who was on Monday commissioning classroom blocks at Bumoozi Primary School, Buyanga Sub County says a number of youths are putting negative energy against leaders instead of engaging in productive work where they can earn a living. She also asked them to always respect leaders by telling the truth other than trading propaganda based on their interests against leaders.

The newly commissioner classroom blocks were rehabilitated by Indians from Tororo cement under her lobby during the 43rd Tarehe Sita commemorations where Hon. Magoola asked for support from Tororo Cement to have the school blocks renovated after suffering a heavy storm which blew off the rooftops of classrooms.

Magoola expressed gratitude to Tororo Cement for accepting to come in for support by renovating the affected blocks.

“I want to thank Tororo Cement for supporting us in renovating this school to this level. I reached out to them when the rooftops of these classroom blocks were blown off and they had to come in. A lot of money was spent because other buildings were started from the ground,” Hon. Magoola said.

Three classroom blocks were renovated at the school as well as the construction of an office and installing solar lamps and other facilities at the school.

During the commissioning, she refuted information alleging that she stole a district ambulance from the Ministry of Health, intended to help the people of Bugweri saying the districts which didn’t get ambulances will get them late this year and early 2025.

“Not every district got an Ambulance that day and around 35 districts didn’t come with the vehicles including Bugweri. Good enough, a letter from the ministry of finance saying that the district that missed will get their ambulances in December and February 2025,” she clarified.

The acting Senior Education Officer for Bugweri Mr. Kilyagana Francisco asked the parents to cooperate with the school management and raise money to have night watchmen to keep the school to prevent theft of school lighting systems and other valuables.

“You can sit as school and parents and raise some development funds to cater for raising issues at the school because the donors have done their work and it is up to you to care for these things,” Mr. Kilyagana said.

The head teacher of the school Mr. Kaziba Christopher asked parents to feed their children while at school, citing that it is one of the most challenging issues in generating good performance at the school. He urged the community to cooperate with the school in sustaining the buildings and other school property.

The function was attended by among others; the LCV Chairperson Bugweri District Mr. Muziransa Shafic, a section of head teachers in Bugweri and other local leaders in the district.
