Kampala, (UG):- Local musician Patrick Mulwana aka Alien Skin who was earlier remanded on charges of theft of an iPhone 15 Pro, Shs480,000 and assault of Nsambya Hospital staff has finally been granted bail but under tight conditions.
Alien, 30, and his bodyguard Julius ‘Julio’ Mugabi today (Thursday) appeared before Makindye Chief Magistrate Court for the second hearing of their bail application which was denied on Monday for non-substantiality of their sureties.
During a court-filled session on a cloudy Thursday morning, the magistrate ruled that the sureties presented by Alien Skin were substantial and hence he was granted bail.
Alien was asked to pay Shs1m in cash for the bail and Shs5m for each of his sureties.
The judge, however, set conditions for the musician and his co-accused barring them from leaving the country without the court’s permission. She also warned them against interfering with the victims in person or on social media.
The Sitya Danger hitmaker who was to stay on remand until December 9th over the phone theft case gained temporary freedom on Thursday after court heard that his team is in talks with aggrieved parties to settle the matter out of court.
Nsambya Hospital case
Alien Skin, together with Julio and others still at large are accused of storming St Francis Nsambya Hospital on November 19, 2024, and unlawfully doing grievous harm to the hospital staff who included; Dr Zaidi Matovu, Alex Odongo and Anthony Munyanda.
It is alleged on the night of the incident, Alien and his group forcefully gained entry into the hospital premises and beat up the medical staff demanding answers over the death of their colleague, Joram Tumwesigye, 28, a resident of Makindye Division.
The duo, however, have denied the charges and the case now waits for 13th January 2025 when they will return to court for further mention of the case.
