Mbale, (UG):- His Royal Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, the Umukuka III of Inzu ya Masaba is expected to visit Bulambuli District to commiserate with communities affected by the recent landslides, the institution’s Spokesperson, Mr Steven Masiga, has confirmed.

During the visit, the Umukuka will also assess the state of cultural sites that may have been destroyed by the landslides. “We shall evaluate the condition of the circumcision grounds and, if necessary, consider revising the Imbalu calendar for December,” Mr. Masiga stated.

Expressing concern over the tragic occurrence, the Umukuka and his cabinet emphasized their cultural responsibility to support the affected families. “The loss of lives among our people is deeply disturbing, and as a cultural leader, the Umukuka has a duty to console and stand with his people during this trying time,” Mr. Masiga noted.

The media, Masiga says, will play a crucial role in covering the visit, with teams from DailyExpress, and other major media outlets in the country expected to be in attendance. Radio stations like Signal FM, BCU FM, IUIU FM, Step FM, and Time FM will also provide coverage.

Mr. Steven Masiga appealed to the Bamasaba people and donors to join efforts in alleviating the suffering caused by the landslides. He also commended the government for its timely intervention in evacuating the sick and providing essential relief to the affected communities.

The Umukuka will be accompanied by a delegation of ministers, including the Prime Minister of Inzu ya Masaba, Rt. Hon. Charles Walimbwa Peke Masolo; Minister for Disaster, Hon. Vincent Woboya; Minister of Museums and Tourism, Hon. Priscilla Mungoma; Minister for Culture, Hon. Moses Kutoi; and Spokesperson, Hon. Steven Masiga.
