Kampala, (UG):- President Museveni is set to visit the Sebei sub-region in eastern Uganda on his continued assessment tours on the impact and performance of the Parish Development Model (PDM) wealth creation programme among the citizens.
“The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) informs the General Public that the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Gen. (Rtd). Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be in Sebei Sub-Region from December 10 to 12, 2024, in continuation of his Parish Development Model (PDM) performance assessment tour,” a statement by the Presidential Press Unit read on Sunday afternoon.
According to the PPU statement, the President will during the tour “visit some beneficiaries, meet stakeholders including various categories of leaders and technical staff, and address a public rally in Kween District.”
The programmes lineup indicates that the President will on the first day of Tuesday, December 10, begin his tour with a visit to Bukwo and Kapchorwa Districts, where he will assess the farmers and how they’re have transformed their lives with the application of the Four-Acre Model and help of the PDM funds.
On Wednesday, the President will meet members of the press at Kapchorwa State Lodge for a media briefing and later in the afternoon interact with the sub-region leaders at Sebei College in Kapchorwa District.
The President will on Thursday, December 12th launch the Sebei Zonal Industrial Hub in Kween District and conclude with a public rally at Binyiny Primary School Grounds.
The emphasis of the assessment tours according to the Presidency Unit is the need to emphasize the Four-Acre Model, Parish Development Model, Emyooga and other Government livelihood Programmes as proven avenues for wealth creation among the wanainchi.
The President’s visit to Sebei Sub-Region comes just days after the completion of his performance assessment tour on PDM and wealth creation in the Karamoja sub-region where he launched the Karamoja Zonal Industrial Hub and urged for the establishment of a model farm at the facility to boost farming skills among youths.
