Kamuli, (UG):- The Police in Kamuli District are investigating a fatal accident in which two people died on the spot on Saturday evening.
The 8 pm incident, involving Mitsubishi Canter Reg. No.UAW 078 R and Bajaj boxer Reg. No.UFV 272 P occurred at Bufumba along Kamuli-Jinja road.
Preliminary findings indicate that on Saturday, December 07, at around 08:40 PM, the Canter vehicle was heading to Kamuli town from Jinja and upon reaching Bufumba village, the driver hit the Motorcycle which was heading in the same direction from behind.
The boda boda rider and the passenger were killed instantly while the driver fled the scene and a serious manhunt is on to have him apprehended.
The scene was visited by the OC traffic, Kamuli who ordered towing away the motor vehicle to the Police pending inspection.
The bodies were taken to Kamuli General Hospital Mortuary for postmortem as enquiries continue to establish the likely cause of the accident.
