ONC pens heartfelt gratitude to stakeholders, after successful Bazzukulu Sports Gala

Kampala, (UG):- The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has expressed a heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their invaluable contributions to the recently concluded Bazzukulu Sports Gala.

The event, held on December 13th, 2024, at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Nakawa Division, Kampala Capital City, was a remarkable success, thanks to the combined efforts of various partners.

In a statement of appreciation released Monday, December 16, the ONC Public Relations and Communications Officer Mr Kintu Moses extended special recognition to the participating football teams, referees, technical officials, and key sponsors.

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Uganda Police Force, Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA), and members of the media fraternity, were recognized for their invaluable support and strong participation which became instrumental in making the gala a triumph.

Drawing inspiration from the words of Nelson Mandela, the ONC emphasized the transformative power of sports, stating, “Sports has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire and unite people.” H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s vision of fostering a socio-economically transformed Uganda remains central to such initiatives, aimed at uplifting communities and promoting inclusive participation.

Through such initiatives, the President continues to champion the vision of a socio-economically transformed Uganda, free from poverty and inequality.

Mr Kintu further lauded the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) for its inclusive policies that identify and nurture talent. “We underscore FUFA for their inclusive policy to identify talent from a wide scope and congratulate the champions of the Bazzukulu Sports Gala (Soccer) Gulf F.C for their exclusive talent exhibited,” the statement reads.

“As our Manager, the SPA/National Coordinator Bazzukulu – Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye reiterated that, “Jajja’s happiness is to see the Bazzukulu and Ugandans fully engaged in Wealth Creation by producing and selling a good or service”, let us fully take advantage of the several government programs especially the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, Youth Livelihood Fund, Micro-finance support Centre for capital sourcing to grow and start SMEs.”

As the ONC looks ahead, Kintu expressed the office’s commitment to replicating similar initiatives in other parts of the country. “We look forward to extending the same arrangement to other parts of the country for purposes of inclusiveness for all the Bazzukulu Ba Museveni and Ugandans,” he said, emphasizing that the main goal of the gala is to promote inclusivity and ensure that all Bazzukulu benefit from such transformative programs.

The Bazzukulu Sports Gala not only celebrated sports but also reflected a broader vision of unity, empowerment, and socio-economic transformation principles that continue to define the ONC’s mission.
