Kampala, (UG):- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Friday announced that he will resume nationwide tours focused on wealth creation reaffirming his government’s commitment to tackling poverty as Ugandans embrace the new year 2025
In a social media post shared via his official account on X, on Friday evening, President Museveni outlined a brief roadmap for 2025, emphasizing the continuation of these nationwide sensitisation tours aimed at bolstering wealth creation.
“Fellow Ugandans, the road through 2025 is now clear. We will resume our nationwide sensitisation tours focused on wealth creation, including initiatives such as PDM, Emyooga, and all our other poverty alleviation programs,” Mr Museveni posted.
The sensitisation tours, DailyExpress understands, will spotlight key government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga programmes, which aim to boost household incomes and promote economic self-reliance.
These programs have been instrumental in the government’s poverty eradication strategy, targeting vulnerable communities across the country.
The President further extended his best wishes to all Ugandans as they embark on their individual and collective journeys toward prosperity. “As we all prepare to start work, may your journeys lead you to success. Happy New Year once again!” he said.
The announcement by the President signals a busy year ahead for the government, with Museveni personally leading efforts to galvanize support for wealth creation programs.
This move aligns with Uganda’s broader Vision 2040 agenda, aimed at transforming the country into a middle-income economy.
