Kigali, (RW):- Rwandan football giants APR FC have strengthened their squad with the signings of Ugandan forwards Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka. They join from Kitara FC and SC Villa respectively, both clubs in the Uganda Premier League.
The duo signed two-year contracts with APR FC, reuniting them with fellow Uganda Cranes international Taddeo Lwanga at the Kigali-based club. Their official unveiling by the club took place on Wednesday.
Omedi, known for his impressive goal-scoring abilities, including a Puskas Award-nominated strike against KCCA FC in August 2024, is expected to add firepower to the APR FC attack.
On the other hand, Kiwanuka, a versatile forward, brings experience and a strong work ethic to the team.
Both players were present at APR FC’s 2-1 victory over Marines in the Rwandan top flight.
The signings of Omedi and Kiwanuka will likely rule them out of Uganda’s squad for the upcoming CHAN 2024 tournament despite their inclusion in Put’s 36-man provisional squad.
