Kampala, (UG):- Ugandan Veteran journalist and spokesperson of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Mr Andrew Mwenda, has revealed the next phase of leadership for First Son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba following his decision to deactivate his X (Twitter) account.
The pronouncement made yesterday (Friday) in Fort Portal, has been described as the “Fort Portal Incident,” drawing parallels to China’s historic Xi’an Incident.
According to Mwenda, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) made this decision after a group of UPDF officers urged him to step away from social media to focus on reforming and transforming the army.
He described Gen. Muhoozi as a professional soldier, patriot, and Pan-Africanist who prioritized the good of the UPDF, Uganda, and the region. “Gen. Muhoozi recognized the need to dedicate his attention to the professionalization of the military and conceded to the officers’ request,” he stated.
In a strategic shift, Mwenda revealed that Gen. Muhoozi will now engage the public through a monthly podcast called The Muhoozi-Mwenda Dialogue.
Hosted by Mwenda himself, the podcast will delve into history and strategic-level discussions on current affairs. The first episode is slated for January 28th and will premiere on YouTube, with television stations invited to bid for broadcasting rights.
Mwenda emphasized that the new show will allow Gen. Muhoozi to share his insights and vision without the distractions of social media. “This podcast will redefine how we engage on critical matters affecting Uganda and the region,” he noted.
The move marks a significant transition for CDF Muhoozi, signaling a deeper commitment to national priorities while opening new avenues for meaningful public discourse.
