Kampala, (UG):- The Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Uganda, Rt Rev Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, has urged married couples to forgive one another so that their marriages bring them joy and harmony.
The Archbishop said this during a service at Namirembe Cathedral while presiding over a special event to celebrate Can. John Fred Kazibwe of King’s College, Budo, and his wife, Dr. Anne N. Kazibwe, as they marked 25 years of holy matrimony.
Dr Kazimba pointed out that some marriages today struggle because spouses fail to work together in important aspects of their lives, especially finances. He emphasized that many couples focus on material wealth, yet in times of illness or difficulty, money fails to bring happiness or strengthen their bond.
He also highlighted the efforts of the Kazibwes in maintaining a strong and enduring relationship, stating that their children and grandchildren were witnesses to how important it is to preserve marriage even amidst challenges.

Kazimba challenged the couple to continue building their peaceful marriage and blessed them, wishing that they would celebrate more years together, even reaching a 50-year milestone.
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, who was represented by his deputy, Robert Wagwa Nsibirwa, expressed gratitude for the couple’s 25 years of marriage.
He praised Can. Kazibwe for his honesty, wisdom, and consistency in his decisions, noting his positive influence in the community, and helping others to grow.
The couple in their remarks thanked God for guiding them throughout their marriage, and encouraged other married couples to aim for similar milestones, hoping that the example of their relationship would bring honor and inspire others.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Buganda Parliament Speaker, Mr Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule, the Minister of Education in Buganda, Ms Cotilda Nakate, Namirembe Diocese Bishop, Rt Rev Moses Banja, Rev. Katumba Tamale, several teachers, clergy, among others.
