Victoria University Crocs Wednesday earned their place in the prestigious National Basketball League (NBL) after an impressive 72-53 win over the UMU Flames in the third game of their promotion playoff semi-final.
The game, played on the night at the Lugogo Arena, sealed a 3-0 sweep in the best-of-five series, with the Crocs dominating throughout.
The Crocs came into Game 3 with a 2-0 lead in the series and showed no signs of slowing down.
By halftime, they held a narrow five-point lead, with the score at 31-26.
The second half saw the Crocs increase their dominance, steadily building a commanding lead that the UMU Flames couldn’t close.
With the final whistle, Victoria University’s victory was confirmed.
In response to the Crocs’ historic victory, NBL took to Twitter to acknowledge the team’s success. “Hello Victoria, welcome to the table of the big boys. See you when the time is right.”
