New York, (US):-Ugandan midfielder Ibrahim Kasule has signed a two-year contract extension with New York Red Bulls II, securing his stay with the MLS NEXT Pro club through the 2026 season, pending visa and registration approval.
The 22-year-old, who has been a key player for the team since joining in 2023, has scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 48 appearances.
Kasule is currently tied for second in the club’s all-time goal-scoring list, matching Jared Stroud, and shares the record for most goals in a single season with 15 goals in 2023.
Head Coach Ibrahim Ssekagya expressed his excitement about retaining Kasule, praising the midfielder’s goal-scoring ability and overall talent.
“We are happy to have [Ibrahim] Kasule back with the squad,” Ssekagya remarked. “He is a talented midfielder that has a nose for the goal, and we are excited to keep him with our club,” he added.

Kasule’s stellar performances earned him a spot on the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and two Player of the Month awards in 2023. His seven-goal streak from June to July of that year is tied for the longest in franchise history.
Before joining New York, Kasule played for Wakiso Giants FC in Uganda, where he impressed with five goals and six assists, earning the Uganda Premier League Player of the Month award in October 2022.
Kasule has also represented the Uganda National Team, making two appearances in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, including his debut against Algeria in October 2023.
