Kampala, (UG): Revellers of Sunday’s Street Racers meet and greet event were denied full enjoyment of the racing action, due to the failure of the authorities to grant full access to the racing track between Kireka Junction at Sports View Hotel and Namboole Stadium to the organisers.

Through observation, this posed a great safety risk as motorists and pedestrians were unaware of the event because they were using the same route during the peak of the racing.

It became disruptive to the showcasers since they were not able to perform to the fullest for their fans who had gathered to witness their favorite racers. Private Cars, Public Vehicles and Buses as well as Boda Boda kept interrupting racing throughout.

Organized by the Street Racers Club Uganda (SRCU) an association which unites them, adds to the annual menu of motor racing lovers in Uganda and East Africa at large.

The race featured a variety of actions designed to test the limits of both drivers and their machines. Challenging participants to navigate a complex course with tight turns, obstacles, and precise manoeuvres.

All these races were against the clock, which saw cars pitted against each other in head-to-head sprints, showcasing raw speed and acceleration over a set distance.
