Victoria University students off to India for two-week Global Pharma Expo at Ganpat University

Kampala, (UG):- A group of Bachelor of Pharmacy students from Uganda’s Victoria University (VU) are set to embark on an enriching academic journey participating in a two-week international exposure program at the Ganpat University in Gujarat, India.

Victoria University broke the exciting development in a social media post via X, formerly Twitter on Monday morning. “This week, a group of our Pharmacy students is at Ganpat University, India, participating in a two-week program designed to provide practical, hands-on experience in pharmaceutical sciences,” VU posted.

Organized by Ganpat University’s Internationalization Office in partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy, the program which starts today, Monday, January 20th to Thursday, 30th, 2025, is tailored to provide participants with both theoretical and practical exposure to the global pharmaceutical industry.

During the tour, VU students will attend academic lectures, engage in hands-on laboratory work, and tour leading pharmaceutical companies in India. They will also have the opportunity to interact with inspiring guest speakers and immerse themselves in India’s vibrant cultural activities.

“Over two weeks, the students shall participate in academic lectures, hands-on lab work, industry visits to top pharmaceutical companies, inspiring guest speakers, and vibrant cultural activities,” the information on the poster read further.

Known globally for its transformational educational approach, Victoria University expressed excitement about the partnership. A representative from the university stated, “Our students will gain exposure to some of the best practices in the pharmaceutical sector, which is a significant step toward empowering them for global opportunities.”

The Global Pharma Pro 2025 initiative demonstrates the power of education to break borders, providing students with the tools they need to thrive in an interconnected world. With industry visits, cultural exchanges, and academic rigour, the program promises to be a transformative experience for Victoria University students.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to keeping Victoria University at the forefront of global job market expectations,” VU added in the X post.
