Ibanda, (UG):- As the exact date for the release of 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) Results nears, parents and guardians have been advised to avoid being rude or harsh toward their children regardless of their performance.

The advice has been given by the ICT and school Welfare master, Standard High School – Igorora Ibanda District, Mr. Bwambale Monday Solomon during a phone interview with this reporter.

According to Mr Bwambale, parents should refrain from comparing their child’s results to those of their neighbours, friends, co-wives, co-husbands, or other schools. Since every child is unique and learns at their own pace.

He says the community should understand that success is not defined solely by scoring 4 aggregates or being in the first grade. True success lies in a child’s growth, resilience, and potential.

Bwambale further advised parents to encourage and support their children regardless of their performance, and together, work on areas that need improvement with love and patience.
Pressure may cause emotional harm, emphasizing the need to prioritize children’s well-being.

DailyExpress understands that the official release date for the PLE results will be confirmed after the briefing to the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, which is set for today, Tuesday, January 21st, 2025.

Official UNEB figures show that a total of 1,320,400 candidates registered for the four national examinations (commonly known as the “4Es”), marking a 7.8% increase in registration compared to last year. Female candidates constitute 51.1% of the total.

A further breakdown of these figures shows that 798,771 candidates sat for the PLE and will anxiously wait for the results release, preliminary set for Thursday, January 24, 2025.
