North Bukedi Police get new furniture from IGP Byakagaba

Budaka, (UG):– The North Bukedi Region Police Headquarters has received a much-needed boost with the delivery of new furniture from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abass Byakagaba to improve the working conditions of officers in the region.

This followed an outcry made by the Regional Police Commander (RPC), ACP Mwanga Moses Kitiyo to the IGP over the old furniture that hampered the image of the Regional Police Headquarters.

The new furniture items, including tables, chairs, benches, and cupboards were delivered on the IGP’s behalf by Ag. Commissioner of Police for Plants and Stores in Logistics and Engineering, Mr Mwebaze Pidson.

Mr Mwebaze urged other Regional Police Commanders (RPCs) to actively communicate their needs, emphasizing that open dialogue is key to improving police infrastructure.

Expressing gratitude for the timely intervention, ACP Mwanga acknowledged the challenges officers had faced due to inadequate furniture. “The furniture we were using couldn’t measure up,” he remarked. “I thank the IGP for such a move. I also pledge to maintain the furniture.”

The RPC further appealed for additional furnishings for district and sub-county stations, highlighting the broader need to enhance working conditions across the region.
