Kampala, (UG):- The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has spoken out on reports it dismissed as fake that the examining body is set to release results from the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), this week.
In a statement released Thursday, February 06, UNEB Spokesperson, Ms Jennifer Kalule Musamba clarified that the reports making rounds on several social media platforms and media outlets are misinforming and are untrue about the anticipated released of 2024 UCE Results.
“It has come to our attention that there is mis-information making rounds on social media platforms regarding the release date for the #UCE2024 results. The public is hereby informed that the 2024 UCE results shall NOT be released on Friday February 7th, as alleged on some platforms,” Ms Kalule said.
“The release date for the results of the 1st cohort of the New Lower Secondary Curriculum and the last cohort of the Old Curriculum/Transitional candidates shall be communicated officially as soon a it is confirmed,” she added.
UNEB’s official figures show that a total of 379,748 candidates sat for the UCE examinations between October and November 2024.
The 2024 UCE results are poised to be the second set of national exam results to be released this year, following the release of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results in January.
Once the results are released, candidates will be able to access them through mobile Short Message Service (SMS) with the UNEB USSD code and via the school examination centres on Uneb’s e-portal.
Additionally, hard copies of the results will also be made available to be collected from the UNEB offices in Ntinda.
The 2024 UCE exams ran on the theme; “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment,” a reflection of the board’s commitment to adapting to the changing educational landscape.
