Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcycle suddenly joined the busy Pallisa-Kumi Road from Agule Road without properly assessing oncoming traffic. This led to a high-impact collision with the truck, which was unable to avoid the crash.

Bukedi North Regional Police Commander ACP Mwanga Kitiyo Moses confirmed that a team led by Sergeant Mutono Fred visited the scene, documented the accident, and immediately kicked off with investigations into the fatal incident.

“The scene was attended by Sergeant Mutono Fred and his team, who conducted an inspection and drew a sketch plan of the accident site,” he said.

Kitiyo also confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were transported to Pallisa Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examinations, while the motorcycle and truck were towed to the Pallisa Police Yard for further investigation.

Police authorities have identified reckless riding as a potential cause of the accident, and inquiries are ongoing to gather more information and determine further accountability.

As investigations continue, the Pallisa Traffic Police urge all road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
