Uganda Premier League
Lugazi 1-0 Wakiso Giants
Police 1-1 NEC – Kavumba
BUL 3-0 Mbale Heroes
KCCA 0-2 Vipers
Vipers SC continued their dominance in the Uganda Premier League with a 2-0 victory over KCCA FC on Sunday, thanks to first-half goals from Yunus Sentamu and Allan Okello.
The win extends Vipers’ lead at the top of the table, leaving KCCA FC 16 points adrift and struggling to recover from two consecutive losses in the second round.
The visitors took control early in the game, with Yunus Sentamu opening the scoring in the 28th minute.
Hilary Mukundane’s quick thinking set up the goal, as he intercepted a header from KCCA’s Katenga Openga Etienne and found Sentamu, who calmly slotted the ball into the net.
Just two minutes later, Allan Okello doubled Vipers’ lead with a composed finish, leaving KCCA FC stunned.
The home team struggled to respond, and Vipers nearly added a third goal in the second half, but KCCA’s Mutwalibi Mugolofa and Alfred Macumu Mudekereza made crucial saves to keep the scoreline respectable.
KCCA FC, once a dominant force in Ugandan football, now find themselves in a difficult position.
This loss marks their second consecutive defeat in the second round of the season, raising questions about their ability to compete for the title.
With 16 points separating them from league leaders Vipers, their hopes of catching up seem increasingly slim.
In other matches, Lugazi FC secured a narrow 1-0 win over Wakiso Giants, while Police FC scored a late equalizer to hold NEC FC to a 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile, BUL FC celebrated their return to the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru with a convincing 3-0 victory over bottom-placed Mbale Heroes FC.
The Eastern Giants, who played their first-round home games at Lugazi Stadium, looked comfortable back at their traditional home ground.
