Kampala, (UG):- With just days left to the long-awaited ONC economic empowerment outreach in Mukono District, the Manager Office of the National Chairman, SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has made it clear that the initiative is ‘not about politics’ but aimed to improve livelihoods of President Museveni’s Bazzukulu.

Speaking to the media from her offices at the ONC headquarters in Kyambogo in Kampala, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized that the event, set for this Thursday, February 20 at Nakisunga Playgrounds is open to all Ugandans, regardless of political affiliation, urging Mukono residents to take advantage of government programs aimed at improving their household incomes.

“This is not just about NRM. People of all walks of life and all political shades are welcome. The youth should not allow themselves to be used by self-seekers and opportunists, as this event aims at uplifting their economic status,” she stated.

Hajjat Namyalo stressed that economic empowerment should be a collective goal for all Ugandans, urging beneficiaries to use the tools provided to create sustainable businesses.

“We have seen success stories in other districts where young people and women have used sewing machines, brick-laying machines, and other equipment to start businesses. Mukono should not be left behind,” she said.

She also encouraged local leaders to mobilize communities, ensuring that as many residents as possible benefit from the initiative that has seen her traverse the country carrying out the same in line with President Yoweri Museveni’s vision to improve household incomes.

The ONC boss also called on local leaders, youth groups, and women’s organizations to mobilize communities and ensure maximum participation. She reiterated that the initiative aligns with President Yoweri Museveni’s vision of improving household incomes and creating a self-reliant Uganda.

The ONC has over the past years conducted similar empowerment programs across the country, supporting small-scale entrepreneurs with income-generating tools and the Mukono empowerment event, is expected to attract thousands of participants, especially youth and women seeking practical solutions to economic challenges.
