Victoria University swears in 8th Guild Cabinet for 2025/26 Term

Kampala, (UG): The Victoria University community gathered on Friday, February 28, 2025, for the swearing-in of the 8th Guild Government, as Khaukha Emmanuel, a third-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student, was officially inaugurated as the Guild President for the 2025/2026 term.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the university’s main auditorium, showcased the institution’s commitment to student leadership, innovation, and service. The event also offered a heartfelt farewell to the 7th Guild Government, whose term was praised for its dedication and leadership that left an indelible mark on the student body.

“We extend our congratulations to the 7th Guild Government for a term well served,” said the university in an official statement released via X, formerly Twitter. “Your leadership and commitment to student welfare have positively shaped our community, and your impact will be felt for years to come.”

The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Augustine Osamor Ifelebuegu, who represented the Vice Chancellor, officiated the ceremony and hailed the student governance as key and integral to Victoria University’s achievements.

City Pastor Wilson Bugembe of Nansana Worship House graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and was appreciated not only for a show of solidarity but also for being a source of encouragement for the new leadership.

“Pr. Wilson, your blessings and words of inspiration have truly ignited a renewed sense of purpose within our community. May your light continue to shine, and may you inspire others to follow in your path,” the university stated.

As the swearing-in concluded in a colourful ceremony, Victoria University students, staff, and guests shared a sense of hope and excitement for the future, with many eager to see the vision and plans of the new Guild President, Khaukha Emmanuel, come to fruition.

The dedication and leadership of the incoming cabinet is expected to build upon the legacy of their predecessors, ensuring that VU remains a beacon of excellence in higher education and a breeding ground for the next generation of leaders.
