The Uganda U-17 women’s national team (Teen Cranes) has departed for Kenya today for the second leg of their 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Kenya’s Junior Starlets. The team left Entebbe Airport aboard Uganda Airlines at 10:30 am.
The match, scheduled for March 16th in Nairobi, will determine which team progresses to the final round of qualification after our East African neighbours emerged victorious in a 2-0 scoreline at Nakivubo in Kampala.
The Junior Starlets of Kenya capitalized on two first-half goals from Edina Nasipwondi and Joan Ogola, securing a vital win.
Despite the setback, Uganda remains determined to fight back in the return leg. To advance, they need to score at least three unanswered goals, a challenge they are ready to face head-on.
The Teen Cranes will be hoping to bounce back and create more chances in the second leg to secure a spot in the next stage of the competition.
