Kaliro, (UG):– The Territorial Police in Kaliro District have launched investigations into circumstances surrounding the brutal murder of a 24-year-old man and the theft of his motorcycle by unidentified assailants.
The victim, identified as Bwoye Titus Kunya, a resident of Nansohera village in Gadumire Sub-County, was ambushed and killed in Takira II village, Kasuleeta Parish, Bumanya Sub-County in eastern Kaliro District.
Preliminary investigations indicate that on the evening of March 13, 2025, Kunya had visited his father and was on his way back home when he was attacked at around 9:00 PM. Unknown armed assailants ambushed him in a valley, striking him on the head with a heavy log, killing him instantly.
The attackers then dragged his body into a nearby bush before making off with his motorcycle, a Bajaj Boxer registered as UFB 625D.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, a team of detectives rushed to the crime scene. The victim’s body was retrieved and transported to Bumanya Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination as investigations continue to track down the perpetrators.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity that could aid in apprehending those responsible for the brutal attack.
