Greater Nebbi Elites to launch regional development agenda for socioeconomic transformation

Nebbi, (UG):- Elites from the Greater Nebbi Region are set to launch the Greater Nebbi Development Agenda setting that will transform the region into a beacon of hope and prosperity.

While speaking during a consultative meeting held recently, the President of Greater Nebbi Forum Odongo Emilio said the Greater Nebbi Development Agenda setting is an initiative meant to underscore Greater Nebbi communities’ collective commitment to foster sustainable development, unity and resilience.

He revealed that through collaborative effort and strategic planning, the Greater Nebbi Development Agenda’s aim is to serve as a document guide and a model for regional growth and prosperity, inspiring the population of the Greater Nebbi region with opportunities and upholding values of equity, inclusiveness and innovation.

He noted that the Greater Nebbi Development Agenda will furthermore build on the foundation of holistic and inclusive development and will seek to address the Greater Nebbi Region’s socio-economic challenges through promoting Economic Growth by encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship and investment in key sectors such as agriculture, trade and infrastructures among others.          

The Chairperson Greater Nebbi Elders Forum, Canon Kura Vasco during the meeting emphasized that as Elites and the population of the region, there is need to have critical thinking by coming up with a major strategy that will strengthen the capacities for self-reliance and enhancing access to education, health, and economic opportunities.

Since the Development Agenda will reflect the shared aspirations of the people of Greater Nebbi Region to build a prosperous and united Greater Nebbi, he noted that by working together for a common goal, Greater Nebbi development A gender can truly become a Beacon of Hope and Prosperity that will set a benchmark for sustainable development and community transformation.

 The Former State Minister for Energy and Mineral Development Simon D’ujanga during the meeting said the formation of the Greater Nebbi Development Agenda is a call to action for all the stakeholders in Greater Nebbi region to align all their efforts towards a shared vision of prosperity that will empower the population of Greater Nebbi region.

“For the Greater Nebbi development Agenda to achieve its aim, as elites of the Greater Nebbi region, we should prioritize the region’s key development Sectors in order to have a cultivating partnership with government, private sector actors, and NGOs in order for our Greater Nebbi region to have diversified economic activities that will transform Greater Nebbi region through increased productivity.

The Member of Parliament of Ora county, Zombo district Hon Biyika Lawrence Songa noted that the agenda reflects the shared aspirations of the people of Greater Nebbi to build a prosperous and united community.

“With unity and a clear strategy, the Greater Nebbi Development Agenda can set a benchmark for sustainable development and community transformation,” he said.
