Ntungamo, (UG):- President Museveni’s Assistant Private Secretary, Ms Kembabazi Calorine, has warned religious and community leaders against fueling sectarianism, and called for unity among Ugandans if the country is to realize the socioeconomic transformation as preached by the President.

Ms Kembabazi made the remarks on Saturday while presiding over the inaugural graduation ceremony of the Modern Institute of Business and Vocational Studies in Ntungamo Municipality where 83 graduates received diplomas in various academic and vocational disciplines.

Addressing the graduates and guests, Ms Kembabazi criticized certain religious leaders for promoting division and urged them to embrace the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ideology of unity and development.

“Those who promote sectarianism are enemies of Uganda. They divide citizens instead of bringing them together. We must work as one people to develop our country,” she emphasized, calling on all Ugandans to foster national unity.

Ms Kembabazi also stressed the importance of girls’ education, urging young women to prioritize their studies and personal growth before considering marriage.

The President’s aide however attributed the low enrollment of female students in vocational institutions to a lack of awareness and called on parents to play a more active role in guiding their daughters toward educational and career success.

The Institute Director, Mr. Kanyesigye Wilson, expressed gratitude for the success of the graduation ceremony, commending the graduates for their achievements.

Kanyesige noted that many had already secured employment, highlighting the critical role of vocational training in addressing unemployment. He also echoed President Museveni’s advocacy for technical education, encouraging students to embrace practical skills for self-reliance.

Bishop Lamech Natukwasa of Favoured Evangelistic Ministries (FEM) who led the prayers at the congregation encouraged the graduates to use their acquired skills to create opportunities and achieve success.

He praised the institution for equipping students with practical knowledge, emphasizing that technical expertise enables individuals to thrive in any environment.
