Kampala, (UG):- Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has named his starting XI for Tuesday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Guinea at Mandela National Stadium.
The Belgian tactician rang four changes, from the side that fell 3-1 to Mozambique, with Nafian Alionzi (who’s on his senior full debut) coming in to replace Isima Watenga in goal. The latter drops to the bench after howlers in the Cairo defeat.
Also, Cranes skipper Khalid Aucho misses the game after picking up a knock in the training, and Kenneth Ssemakula comes in to replace the experienced midfielder in a double pivot display alongside Ronald Ssekiganda, also another change.
Other changes are upfront with Travis Mutyaba, and Rogers Mato in for Jude Ssemugabi and Denis Omedi respectively.
The Cranes will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing result to turn fortunes around for the 2026 world cup qualification dream, while Guinea, who were held to a goalless draw by Somalia in Abidjan, will also be seeking a vital win in Group G.
Uganda comes into this match day six in 5th on the 6 team with 6 points and a win tonight will propel it to third at 9 points.
