CONFIRMED: Muslims to celebrate Eid-Al-Fitr tomorrow

Eid is celebrated across the world as Muslim faithful mark the end of the 30-day fasting period in the month of Ramathan.

Kampala, Uganda: The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has confirmed that Eid-Al-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow Sunday, March 30, 2025, after the Shawwal crescent moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening.

According to UMSC, Saudi media reports, confirmed the moon sightinh, which means Saturday (today) is the end of Ramadan after 29 days of fasting, and tomorrow, Sunday, will be celebrated as Eid ul Ftir across the world.

Dr Sheikh Ziyad Swaleh Lubanga, the UMSC director of sharia, revealed that with the confirmation of the new moon sighting, Eid-Al-Fitr national prayers will be held tomorrow at Gaddafi Mosque in Kampala- starting at 8 am, led by the mufti of Uganda Sheikh Ramadhan Mubajje.

Eid-al-Fitr is the first day of the month of Shawaal, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar which follows the holy month of Ramadhan.
