Kayunga Youth, Women united to send Nalubwama to Parliament as 2026 Woman MP

Kayunga | DailyExpress:- Despite threats, bribes, blackmail, and intimidation by some NRM Politicians in Kayunga District, it’s clear that Agatha Nalubwama is the preferred candidate for Woman MP 2026-2031. Having visited 66 parishes in Kayunga out of 71 parishes and gathered facts on the ground from people, we learnt of the formidable force and networks of dedicated people she has recruited across villages.

What shocked us is that all her people have been trained not only to support Agatha but also to be agents of President Museveni, something Kayunga’s big politicians are hesitant to do.

Agatha Nalubwama is a shining example of exceptional leadership in Kayunga District, and her dedication to empowering the youth and promoting socioeconomic development has earned her the support of the people and government of Kayunga.

In 2021, she was elected NRM Flag bearer for Woman Member of Parliament Kayunga District and, in the main election, she competed against NUP’s flag bearer Harriet Nakwedde, independent candidate Nantaba Aida, who is an incumbent, and another independent candidate, Jackline Karangwa Birungi, daughter of NRM District Chairman Karangwa Moses.

In the NRM primaries, Agatha defeated Jackline Birungi, but she would go further to stand as an independent candidate, hence costing the NRM party and President Museveni. Nantaba applied all tactics, including vote, and she retained her seat. Today, Kayunga District is believed to be the most divided district in Uganda, possibly next to Ssembabule.

Since 2021, Agatha has remained in touch with people, organizing activities ranging from awareness on Parish Development Model, career guidance, spiritual conferences, training, and mentorship of youth into life skills, etc.

Today, she is the target for all politicians in Kayunga who are detached from the common people of Uganda. She is the shining star of exemplary leadership described as an honest, incorruptible, and dedicated leader committed to uniting and empowering the people of Kayunga for social-economic transformation.

Our snoops in Kayunga have gathered enough information about her political activities. As the NRM Woman MP Flag Bearer, Agatha has consistently demonstrated her commitment to improving the lives of Kayunga’s residents. She is a darling to people in villages, even those who haven’t met her in person, but her name is a household name in all villages of Kayunga. She has always wondered why NRM People continue to suffer, yet President Museveni keeps sending money and development projects in kayunga. One man in Galiraya said Agatha is who we want to lead us to liberate our children and women from poverty and unemployment.

Her focus on community development is evident in her efforts to promote industrial development, economic growth, and poverty reduction in Kayunga District. She has also urged the community to embrace the parish development model to fight household poverty, demonstrating her dedication to socioeconomic development.

Agatha’s exceptional leadership has made a significant impact in Kayunga, even without holding a paying job in government. Despite limited personal resources, she has demonstrated remarkable resilience and commitment to serving President Museveni and empowering ordinary people in Kayunga District. She has been able to galvanize support from ordinary people and elites in Kayunga district.

Her initiatives have directly benefited individuals, providing training, mentorship, boreholes, medical camps, and community-based preachings, transforming lives and promoting self-sufficiency.

The people of Kayunga support Agatha because of her genuine, accountable, accommodating, friendly, and honest approach, which has earned her community’s trust. She empowers youth and women through Kayunga Empya Foundation and her Agatha Nalubwama Ministries, providing skills training and economic opportunities, health support initiatives, and advocating for gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Agatha expressed gratitude to President Museveni and Gen Salim Saleh for launching the Mengo Presidential Skilling Hub in Gangama parish in Kayunga district, which provides skills training to the youth, enabling them to become self-employed and employ others, reducing poverty and unemployment. This project was commisioned by Youth Affairs Minister Balaam Barugahara.

As the founder of Kayunga Empya Foundation, Agatha drives social-economic growth through entrepreneurship skills and healthcare initiatives. Her vision for a prosperous Kayunga resonates with the community, making her an ideal choice for District Woman Member of Parliament.

Actually, she is the only candidate with a clear development agenda for Kayunga people, unlike her competitors who are into hatred and intimidation as well as bribery. With Agatha at the helm, Kayunga’s future looks brighter than ever.

Personal Life and Family Background

In her personal life, Agatha is a family person in a happy, long-term union with her fiancé, who is a businessman and served as an influential National Youth Leader in the Youth League of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). She is a daughter to the late Lubwama, who died in 2017.

Mr. Lubwama was the Mugerere of the Kabaka of Buganda in Bugerere County. He was also one of the richest men in Kayunga throughout for over 30 years, operating as a big-time coffee buyer, processor, and exporter. Her father built churches in Kayunga, he supported development programs.

People we talked to in Kangulumira subcounty testified that her father built a church in their subcounty and said they will always vote for her without fear or favour. Our team visited Busana subcounties, where elders stated that the father of Agatha supported many churches in their area, including building churches.

Agatha’s father was one of those who supported the NRA-protracted liberation war that culminated in the liberation of Uganda in 1986, according to archived information and information in the public domain in Kayunga. Her family has maintained links to the Mengo government, and the family has remained loyal to President Museveni and the NRM Government. This is another reason she hasn’t joined the National Unity Platform despite its popularity in Kayunga District.

In Bbaale, a businesswoman said all we want is a better Bbaale county with good roads, hospitals, schools and able to gain from government. “Agatha Nalubwama will do it. I spoke to her husband. He also addressed us on a phone conversation. He sounded humble and honest,” the woman stated.

Agatha’s commitment to building strong relationships and fostering a sense of community is evident in her personal life and role as a leader. Her leadership style is characterized by her ability to collaborate with others, especially youth and women. Agatha treated our children when she brought doctors here. A female teacher in Nazigo pointed out.

She is not involved in wars in Kayunga despite being targeted by corrupt politicians, especially those involved in land-grabbing and those claiming to be against land grabbers, yet they are all the same. I have been in many of her meetings, but she has never insulted anyone the way kayunga politicians do. She is always talking of unity and development.

She is concerned that NRM Leaders in villages and parishes are poor, yet they are in government. She attributes this to bad NRM leadership in the district. She is working out ways to support NRM Leaders in communities who have been left out by corrupt and selfish NRM leaders at the district but selfish MPS.

She has concentrated on engaging people while her competitors are dedicated to undermining her efforts through blackmail, propaganda, threatening her supporters, bribing her supporters, etc.

Agatha remains the voice of the voiceless people in Kayunga. She is the way to end the suffering of the common people of Kayunga.
