Busoga Princess Kyanika Rehema declares bid to take on Wanyoto for NRM Women’s League slot

Busoga, Uganda: Renowned Busoga Princess, Ms Kyanika Rehema, Tuesday officially announced her candidacy for the position of National Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League 2025–2030, promising a leadership rooted in servant-hood, inclusivity, and grassroots empowerment.

Launching her campaign under the slogan “I Am, Because You Are,” Ms Kyanika pledged to transform the League into a proactive platform that responds to the needs of every Ugandan woman while strengthening the NRM’s legacy of peace and development.

Kyanika, a Busoga royal and respected community mobiliser, is contesting for a seat on the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), where she intends to champion women’s participation in national policy and governance.

“Let us stand together. Let us build together. I am, because you are,” she declared, outlining her five key pillars as; Grassroots Mobilization and Capacity Building, Economic Empowerment for Rural and Urban Women, Youth and Women Mentorship Programs, Health and Education Advocacy, and Strengthening Unity within the Party.

Kyanika Rehema has long been recognized for her tireless work in grassroots mobilization, women’s economic empowerment programs, and community development. Her approach is anchored in the belief that when women are empowered, communities thrive.

Through her candidacy, she aims to bring renewed energy to the NRM Women’s League, ensuring it remains a driving force for national transformation.

As a candidate for the Central Executive Committee (CEC), Rehema pledges to amplify the voices of women within the party’s top decision-making organ. Her leadership style emphasizes transparency, mentorship, and accountability, values that align with the NRM’s mission of peace, stability, and development.
