Mbale City, Uganda: The Umukuka III of the Bamasaaba, His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, has extended heartfelt appreciation to media houses, schools, police leadership, and cultural officials for the dignified welcome he received upon returning from the United States, where he was honoured with an International Humanitarian Knighthood.
According to Bugisu Cultural Institution spokesperson Steven Masiga, the Umukuka was particularly impressed by the extensive media coverage rendered by DailyExpress and Ankole Times, which kept the Bamasaaba both in Uganda and the diaspora updated throughout his stay abroad.
“These platforms ensured that our people were fully informed about His Highness’s itinerary, engagements, and achievements while in the United States,” Masiga said.
Masiga also acknowledged the efforts of local school heads in supporting the mobilisation team. These include Nakaloke SSS Headteacher Madam Nankya Masitula, Mbale School for the Deaf’s Mr. Peter Musingo, and Mulatsi SSS Headteacher Mr. Peter Samanya, who offered logistical support in form of fuel.
In addition, the institution recognised the assistance from Elgon regional police leadership, particularly Dr. Rubanza of Uganda Police, who coordinated security efforts, including police escort cars and both overt and covert security arrangements to safeguard the monarch’s movement.
Masiga further highlighted the roles of Bukuka ministers and officials who provided additional escort vehicles and mobilisation support. Notable among them were Hon. Patrick Mataku, Hon. Rev. Titus Kutosi, Hon. Kalid Massa, Hon. Irene Manghali, and Minister for Culture Hon. Kutoi.
The royal security wing, comprising military royal guards, was also on standby to ensure maximum protection for the Umukuka and his entourage during the homecoming reception.
“It is our duty as a cultural institution to appreciate community efforts aimed at giving the Umukuka the honour he deserves,” Masiga noted.
