Kampala, Uganda: Atukunda Siyemah is a Ugandan youth leader, activist, and political aspirant known for her advocacy in student governance, youth empowerment, and gender equality. She is currently contesting for the position of National Female Youth Member of Parliament (MP) in Uganda, bringing with her a bold vision and a proven track record of action.

Early Life and Education

Born and raised in Mubende District, Uganda, Siyemah attended Kasambya Primary School for her early education. She then joined Kasambya Parents School and St. Benedict Secondary School, Kasambya, for her lower secondary education. For A-Level, she studied at St. Adolf High School, Katoosa in Kyenjojo District.

While in secondary school, Siyemah demonstrated early leadership qualities, as Sanitary Prefect and later as Chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee, roles that earned her recognition among peers and administrators.

She later joined Kyambogo University, where she pursued her undergraduate studies, and during her time at the university, she was elected Guild Representative Councillor (GRC) for Non-Residents and subsequently served as Deputy Prime Minister in the Guild Government (2019–2020).

Youth Leadership & Activism

Siyemah first gained national recognition through her work as Mubende District Youth Council Representative to the National Youth Council, where she proved instrumental in pushing policies aimed at improving youth participation in governance, job creation, and social transformation.

Her work was characterized by transparency, engagement, and a belief that leadership must be both inclusive and transformative.

On the national scene, Siyemah later rose to prominence in 2020 when she was appointed Deputy General Secretary of the Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA). She used her position to expand advocacy efforts to include nationwide student welfare campaigns, education reforms, and institutional engagement with government stakeholders.

This year (2025), Siyemah declared her official bid for the position of National Female Youth Member of Parliament. Her campaign is centered on themes of meaningful youth representation, economic empowerment, access to quality education, entrepreneurship, and gender equity.

Beyond Politics…

Beyond just politics, Siyemah is a proud Pan-Africanist and an active member of the Young Women of Africa – Uganda Chapter, where she uses her voice to promote youth leadership, gender equality, and continental solidarity.

Her contributions reflect a broad worldview grounded in local realities and driven by a desire to see Ugandan youth rise above systemic barriers. “Young people deserve a fearless advocate. Young women deserve a strong voice,” Siyemah affirms, a mantra that defines both her personal values and her public mission.

Why Siyemah for National Youth MP?

Atukunda Siyemah stands out not just because of her experience, but because of her fearless commitment to youth-first leadership. She is ready to take her advocacy to the national stage — not as a politician, but as a people-centered leader who listens, represents, and delivers.
