Namisindwa, Uganda: A wave of support is building behind journalist and Namisindwa Male Youth Councillor Bwayo Emma after local leaders from Tsekululu Sub-county declared their backing for his bid to become Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson.

The endorsement came during a Thanksgiving ceremony hosted by newly elected NRM Sub-county Chairperson Bwayo Bosco, held at Tsekululu Sub-county hall. The event was attended by all LC1 chairpersons, NRM village leaders from the 90 villages, and parish executives from across the Buwabwala region—one of the largest political blocs in the district.

Bwayo Bosco described Emma as a “God-sent leader” with intelligence, reliability, and a strong connection to the grassroots. He vowed that the entire sub-county would protect Bwayo Emma’s votes unapologetically in the upcoming NRM primaries.

“Bwayo is one of our own, and we will defend his mandate with everything we have. Let no one attempt to distort the will of the people in Buwabwala,” Bosco said to thunderous applause.

Joseph Wateya, a leader from Musola Village, echoed the sentiment but cautioned about possible election interference. “Some top NRM leaders and registrars are known for tampering with results. We must be vigilant and ensure Bwayo’s votes are guarded until the final count,” he warned.

In his address, Bwayo thanked the community for its trust and pledged to run a people-centered campaign based on transparency, accessibility, and accountability. He committed to engaging fellow candidates and security officers in joint forums to prevent voter fraud and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.

“The will of the people must prevail. I will work with everyone to ensure a peaceful and credible primary,” Bwayo assured.

Bwayo, who also serves as Marketing and Business Development Manager at Elgon FM, recently picked NRM nomination forms, officially declaring his intention to contest for the top district seat.
