ONC’s Namyalo preaches Museveni agenda as NRM Entrepreneurs SACCO launches to boost SMEs growth

Kampala, Uganda: The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has rallied traders and entrepreneurs to align behind President Museveni’s 2026 agenda as the NRM Entrepreneurs League officially launched a nationwide SACCO to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The SACCO, registered as Uganda NRM Entrepreneurs League Members Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited, was launched Saturday June 14 at a colorful event held at Maya Nature Resort, graced by NRM grassroots leaders, traders, and party supporters from across the country.

Addressing the gathering, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized that the initiative reflects President Museveni’s long-standing commitment to inclusive economic transformation, urging Ugandans to support structured systems rather than rely on handouts.

“Museveni has always believed in empowering Ugandans to stand on their own. This SACCO is not politics—it is about survival, growth, and dignity for entrepreneurs,” Namyalo said.

She narrated the struggles she endured to bring the SACCO to life, including internal resistance, sabotaged meetings, and opposition from what she described as “selfish elements” within the system.

“Some people wanted this SACCO idea dead. But I pushed because the President believes in it. And now it’s here—for the bazzukulu and for all Ugandan innovators,” she revealed.

Namyalo thanked KACITA Chairman Tadeus Musoke for lobbying her to present the concept directly to President Museveni and hailed Hon. Phillip Kakuru, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Trade, for offering UGX 100 million as start-up capital for the SACCO.

Kakuru, who is also vying to chair the NRM Entrepreneurs League at the Central Executive Committee (CEC), said the SACCO will ease access to credit, promote savings, and fund collective business ventures aligned with the NRM’s wealth creation strategy. He also announced that SACCO offices will be rolled out nationally, with the first one opening in Bugolobi, Kampala.

Namyalo called on all entrepreneurs to shun corrupt politicians who only appear during campaigns with bribes and handouts.

“Stop voting for those who buy your vote with petty cash. The real leaders are building systems like this SACCO to help your business grow. Museveni is the only leader with a plan and a track record,” she emphasized.

The Chief Muzzukulu reiterated her unwavering support for President Museveni’s expected 2026 re-election bid. “If it’s not Museveni, it’s no one. Settle for the best. We’re not gambling with Uganda’s future,” she declared.

The SACCO’s launch is expected to create a formal financial support mechanism for thousands of NRM-affiliated entrepreneurs and traders across Uganda, in line with the government’s ongoing wealth creation and socio-economic transformation efforts.
