Kampala, Uganda: The Senior Presidential Advisor and Manager of the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has hit back at faded socialite Frank Gashumba, calling him a hired mercenary and serial blackmailer determined to derail her mobilisation work for President Museveni ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with DailyExpress, Hajjat Hadijah, popularly known as the Chief Muzzukulu for her role as National Coordinator Bazzukulu at ONC, said Gashumba’s recent attacks on her are fueled by bitterness after being dropped from her office’s engagements over misconduct and dishonesty.
“When I first met Gashumba, he was weather-beaten and had just left jail. I extended a helping hand, even when warned against working with him,” a fierce but calm Hajjat started. “But as fate would have it, his ill manners proved those warnings right.”
Exposing the Ungrateful
Hajjat Hadijah said she facilitated Gashumba with a UGX 3 million monthly token and awarded him a contract to print T-shirts under the “Tova Ku Main” slogan, an initiative she personally conceptualized to bolster support for President Museveni.
She later terminated their working relationship after discovering Gashumba’s manipulative conduct, including attempts to steal and gazette the “Tova Ku Main” slogan under his name. Hajjat said she was forced to leave a retreat in Kyankwanzi to block the move legally, which she won.
Since being kicked out of the ONC, Gashumba has allegedly resorted to repeated public attacks, using media platforms to spread unsubstantiated allegations, including claims that Hajjat lacks academic qualifications and personal wealth.
But in response, Hajjat publicly displayed her certified academic documents and asset declarations, and challenged Gashumba to report any concerns to the Inspector General of Government (IGG).
“They’re bitter because the president still trusts me. Their games to discredit me before him have failed,” she said, noting that Museveni often ignores the reports submitted by such detractors after his own intelligence verifies her integrity.
Mobilisation Turf Wars
The ONC under Hajjat Hadijah has grown into a powerful mobilisation network with national coverage. It is currently central to NRM’s voter protection strategy heading into the 2026 elections.
Sources within the State House revealed that attempts by some NRM honchos to exclude Hajjat from mobilisation plans were flatly rejected by President Museveni, who reportedly insisted: “Any mobilisation plan must include Namyalo.”
“They are fighting the wrong person. Fighting Hajjat is fighting the president,” a State House insider told DailyExpress.
Gashumba was yet to publicly respond to Hajjat Namyalo’s rebuttal by the time this story got filed and published.
