Kampala, Uganda: The Head of the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has fired back at social-political commentator Frank Gashumba, revealing that she never considered dating him, because “he bleaches.”
Speaking during a heated response to recent attacks by Gashumba, Hajjat Namyalo dismissed claims that she was ever romantically interested in him. “You said Namyalo is not your type; who told you you’re my type? I used to hang out with you because I had money,” she said.
“If I wanted you, I would have used money to seduce you, which I didn’t do because you bleach,” Namyalo added.
The Chief Muzzukulu’s comments came in the wake of recent jabs directed at her by Gashumba, who suggested in a viral video clip that he could never date a woman like Namyalo. The spat has since spiraled into a full-blown war of words involving allegations of betrayal, corruption, and personal insults.
Namyalo, in her rebuttal, said Gashumba once confided in her about relationship matters and frequently sought her advice. She further suggested that his choice of wife, whom he recently introduced in a Gusaba ceremony, did not match the standards he often used to ridicule other women.
“You used to come to me to confide about women. And now we’ve not even commented on your wife. The way you abused us, we thought you were going to marry God, and we’d worship her. But it didn’t happen,” she fired.
Fallout Over ONC Money
Namyalo also accused Gashumba of turning on her after being removed from the ONC payroll and being cut off from alleged deals connected to the Office of the National Chairman.
“I gave him over Shs500 million,” she claimed, showcasing documents to journalists to back her assertion. “But when I closed the taps, he turned against me and began soiling my name before top NRM officials and the president himself.”
The public feud has shocked political watchers, given Gashumba’s previously warm ties with Namyalo and his pro-NRM pronouncements in recent months. The verbal clash between the two high-profile personalities is seen as exposing the underbelly of patronage politics within the ruling party circles.
