Kampala, Uganda: Victoria University’s three sports teams delivered spirited performances over the weekend, dominating in basketball and handball fixtures that showcased their growing reputation as a hub for athletic excellence.
In the women’s basketball matchup, the VU She-Crocs overwhelmed Seeta High School with an emphatic 67–34 victory, a game that highlighted the superior coordination and defensive intensity of the VU side.
With the win, the She Crocs cemented their place as one of the most formidable female university basketball teams this season.

In handball, the VU Whales (Ladies) edged out a determined UPDF side, finishing with a well-earned 39–32 win. The encounter was fiercely contested, but the Whales’ tactical discipline and sharp finishing saw them emerge victorious in front of an electrified home crowd.
However, in the National Basketball League (NBL), VU Crocs (Men) fell short against KCCA, suffering a narrow 57–67 defeat. Despite the loss, the Crocs put up a commendable fight, keeping the scoreline close throughout the game and showing promise for future league fixtures.
The university celebrated the results, reaffirming its identity as a growing powerhouse in university sports. “Victory, effort, and pride, this is the spirit of Victoria University!” the institution proudly declared in a Saturday statement.
