Gulu, Uganda: Popular Ugandan musician Daudi Mugema has been found dead in a hotel room in Gulu under circumstances that remain unclear, authorities and close sources have confirmed.

Preliminary reports indicate that Mugema had travelled to Gulu to meet with General Salim Saleh in a bid to secure financial assistance, reportedly for ongoing health-related and personal welfare challenges.

The singer, who had battled a life-threatening condition involving a swollen limb last year, had undergone treatment in India but was said to still be in recovery and facing significant financial strain.

His visit to Gulu was reportedly part of a wider effort to seek help for his medical needs and livelihood support.

Tragically, Mugema was discovered unresponsive in his hotel room, and he was later confirmed dead. The cause of death has not yet been publicly confirmed, but investigations are ongoing.

Authorities have not ruled out a medical emergency, though conclusive details from a post-mortem examination were yet to be released by press time.

His death has sent shockwaves through the music industry, with many fans expressing grief and demanding clarity on what happened in his final hours.

Daudi Mugema was a respected Ugandan musician known for his cultural and socially conscious songs. He gained nationwide popularity for his traditional music style, often infused with political undertones.
