Iganga, Uganda: The Lubega Institute of Nursing and Health Professionals, in collaboration with the Canadian Education Council Office in Uganda (CEC-Uganda), has launched a major recruitment drive targeting thousands of Ugandan and East African nurses and healthcare providers seeking employment opportunities in Germany, the United States, Canada, and other countries.

This was revealed by the Executive Director Lubega Institute of Nursing and Health Professionals, Prof Dr Muhamadi Lubega Kisambira in a letter dated June 26, 2025, inviting interested medical professionals to apply through the Institute’s main campus in Buseyi, Iganga Municipality, or their Kampala liaison office on Nkrumah Road.

“The desired cadres range from holders of certificates, diplomas, or degrees in nursing, midwifery, and other healthcare disciplines from any nationally registered and accredited health training institution in Uganda or East Africa,” Dr. Lubega said.

Successful candidates will receive a minimum monthly remuneration of 2,700 Euros, along with health insurance coverage and the possibility of relocating their families to their overseas work stations.

DailyExpress has established that applicants do not need prior work experience. However, candidates must be prepared to undergo a proficiency test and submit key documents, including certified academic transcripts and passport biodata pages.

“This opportunity is immediate, and all interested individuals should register with us and be ready to present the necessary documentation,” Dr. Lubega added.

The recruitment program follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Lubega Institute and CEC-Uganda during the Institute’s 5th graduation ceremony on May 30, 2025, to support the export of Uganda’s skilled healthcare workforce to meet rising international demand.
