Kampala, Uganda: Ssemuddu Ivan, a prominent youth mobiliser under the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has been duly nominated to contest for the position of National Vice Chairperson of the NRM Youth League for the Central Region (2025–2030).
The NRM Electoral Commission formally cleared Ssemuddu’s candidature on Friday, July 4, paving the way for him to join the race ahead of elections scheduled for August 2025 during the party’s delegates’ conference at Namboole Stadium.
With deep roots in grassroots mobilisation and a strong digital footprint on platforms such as TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), Ssemuddu is positioning himself as a fresh voice for young people seeking effective representation and renewed energy within the ruling party.

In his post-nomination remarks, the youthful aspirant stressed the importance of unity and values-driven leadership as a foundation for building the next generation of NRM leaders.
“My aspiration is anchored in service, inspiration, and transformation. We must bring young people together around shared values and ensure the NRM Youth League becomes an engine for progress and opportunity,” he said.
Ssemuddu’s campaign, running under the slogan Here to Lead, Inspire & Transform, will in the coming weeks roll out outreach activities across districts in Central Uganda to rally support among party delegates and the broader youth electorate.
