Kampala, Uganda: The Police in Entebbe Division have launched an investigation into the gruesome double murder of an elderly couple of Mutaaga David (69) and his wife, Mutaaga Deborah Florence (62), whose bodies were discovered at their residence in Lugonjo Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the suspected aggravated robbery and murder occurred on Sunday, 6th July 2025, and was reported by a worker attached to the deceased household.

“A team of officers immediately responded to the scene. Upon arrival, two bodies were discovered with fatal stab wounds and later identified as Mutaaga David and his wife Deborah Florence,” Owoyesigyire said in a Tuesday, July 8 police statement.

The police, Owoyesigyire adds, rushed to the scene and conducted crime scene documentation, collected forensic evidence, and transported the bodies to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem to support the ongoing investigations.

Although the motive remains unclear, preliminary findings suggest a coordinated attack, and several exhibits of evidential value have been recovered for forensic analysis.

Owoyesigyire said investigators have intensified efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects behind the killings. “We condemn this act in the strongest terms and wish to reassure the public that we are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses,” he added.

Unverified information separately obtained by this publication by press time indicates that the couple returned to the country for retirement recently after living in Germany for over 30 years.

But the KMP deputy spokesperson has since called for public cooperation and encouraged anyone with information to report to the nearest police station.
