Tycoon Patrick Bitature mourns passing of nephew Marvin Bitature

Kololo, Kampala: Ugandan prominent businessman Patrick Bitature and his family are mourning the untimely death of their nephew, Marvin Beine “Boyo” Bitature, who passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. The cause of death was yet to be officially disclosed by press time.

Beine, aged 35 and born in September 1989, was described by the family as a loving father, husband, and brother. Though a nephew, Beine was raised by the Bitature family and remained closely bonded to the household of the Simba Group founder.

In a public condolence message posted on X, Col Edith Nakalema, Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, extended heartfelt sympathies to the Bitature family.

“I can’t find the words to express how sad I am following the passing of Marvin Beine Bitature. His grieving parents, Patrick and Carol Bitature, are dear friends of mine who’ve made significant contributions to the development of our country,” Nakalema said.

“This is heartbreaking news! I pray that God gives Marvin’s family and friends the strength they need in this terrible time,” she added.

Vienna College Alumni also paid tribute to the late Beine in a social media post that read: “A cherished friend, brother, and vibrant spirit, gone too soon.”

According to the funeral arrangements released by the Bitature family, a vigil Mass was held at their Kololo home on Thursday night.

A funeral Mass will be held today, Friday, July 11, at 2 pm at St. Charles Lwanga Church in Ntinda. Burial is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, at noon at the family estate in Ibanda District.

Marvin’s passing adds to a string of tragedies among Uganda’s elite families in recent months. The Ruparelia family lost 35-year-old Rajiv Ruparelia in a fatal crash on the Munyonyo-Entebbe Expressway on May 3.

In the same month of May, Ambassador Richard Kabonero also lost his 24-year-old son, Robert “Bobby” Kabonero, while Captain Francis Babu’s son, Cedric Babu, passed away at age 50 due to heart complications.
