Pastor Kayanja was celebrated for his pioneering humanitarian work through Afri-Aid and the Robert Kayanja Bucket Initiative, both of which have supported vulnerable communities across Uganda and the region.
Paris, France: Renowned Ugandan evangelist Pastor Robert Kayanja, the lead pastor at Miracle Centre Cathedral Rubaga, has been honored with the Innovative Mindset & Ideological Transformation Champion Award, recognizing him as one of the outstanding leaders driving impactful humanitarian and ideological transformation across Asia and Africa.
The accolade, conferred by Prime Awards & Events LLC at the Asia-Africa 2025 summit in Paris, France’s capital, celebrates the ‘Man of God’ for his pioneering humanitarian work through Afri-Aid and the Robert Kayanja Bucket Initiative, both of which have supported vulnerable communities across Uganda and the region.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kayanja spearheaded a mass relief effort, distributing food aid to over 50,000 Ugandan families and supplying 8,000 metric tons of relief items to South Sudan at the height of the crisis.
Event organizers praised Pastor Kayanja’s “faith-driven solutions, innovative mindset, and visionary approach to community transformation,” adding that his work has elevated Uganda’s profile on the global stage.
The award comes days after Kayanja led a high-level delegation of religious leaders to meet Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo in Kinshasa, for discussions centered on peace in the Great Lakes region, spiritual revival, and agriculture cooperation.
Kayanja, who is President Yoweri Museveni’s personal pastor, praised President Tshisekedi’s leadership and vision for peace, saying: “We thank God for President Tshisekedi, and we thank God for allowing us to be received on Congolese soil. Congo is very dear to us. It stood up for Africa in so many ways.”
As a gesture of good comradeship, the Ugandan Pastor also gifted President Tshisekedi a copy of his book, “The Holy Spirit,” and announced that world-renowned American televangelist Pastor Benny Hinn plans to hold a major crusade in Kinshasa, a proposal that received President Tshisekedi’s full backing.

Kayanja reflected emotionally on his family’s ties to the DRC, where his grandfather once served as a missionary. “The awakening of East Africa began in Congo. There is a very strong connection between Congo and the region.”
The Evangelist’s latest award in Paris and his growing diplomatic engagements is a testament to his widening convergence between faith, diplomacy, and development across the Great Lakes region, with Uganda and Congo deepening ties through shared priorities of peace, prosperity, and spiritual renewal.
