Kampala, Uganda: The MTN Arena Lugogo was clouded with an ultimate wave of excitement on Saturday, July 26, as the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) hosted Week 7 of the Boxing Champions League Season IV, drawing thousands of spectators to witness 25 high-impact bouts.
The headline fight of the night saw Alex Kanaabi, 23, of KCCA Boxing Club, defeat Nerrick Bulabe Tumusiime of Kololo High School Boxing Club in a spirited 5-0 decision that lit up the fully packed Arena. The intensity, speed, and heart displayed in the ring left both the VIP section and ordinary fans on their feet.
Presiding over the boxing night as Chief Guest, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the ONC Manager and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, awarded Kanaabi USD 600 cash for his outstanding performance and pledged to push for more support towards the sport from H.E Jajja wa’Bazzukulu President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
As if they was not enough, Namyalo also gifted UGX 1.5 million to Nerrick Bulabe and committed to pay his third-term school fees at Kololo High School, where the young boxer is in Senior Five.
“This is the spirit we need – passion, discipline, and purpose. These Bazzukulu are the future of Ugandan sport and leadership,” Namyalo said.
The Chief Muzzukulu praised the growing love for boxing among youth, calling it a practical manifestation of Musevenomics, the President’s economic ideology that emphasizes wealth creation, skills development, and empowerment from the grassroots.
“Boxing is more than a game — it’s a livelihood. From ghettos to global arenas, we must uplift these youth through structured support. This is Musevenomics at work,” she noted.

Hajjat used the occasion to rally Bazzukulu across Uganda to throw their weight behind President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ahead of the 2026 general elections.
“Come 2026, we must return Jajja Museveni to continue building a stable and prosperous Uganda. Support the mission,” she declared.
UBF Applauds Support from Museveni Office
Uganda Boxing Federation President Moses Muhangi thanked President Museveni through his SPA Namyalo for the consistent backing of the sport, noting that ONC’s involvement is elevating the game to new heights.
“Chief Muzzukulu Namyalo has demonstrated unmatched commitment to our boxing agenda. Her presence motivates the athletes and reminds fans that boxing matters,” Muhangi said.

The UBF boss urged boxers and supporters to uphold discipline both in 0 out of the ring, warning that misconduct could undo the gains made so far in professionalizing the sport.
