The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially appointed Mr. Bashir Mutyaba as its new Football Development Director, effective August 1, 2025.
The announcement follows the departure of Mr. Ali Mwebe, who was recently recruited by FIFA as a Regional Technical Consultant.
Mr. Mutyaba, a seasoned football administrator and a longstanding member of FUFA’s Development Department, has played a key role in youth football initiatives across Uganda. His elevation is seen as a strategic move to ensure continuity in the implementation of development programmes under FUFA, CAF, and FIFA frameworks.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, FUFA urged all football stakeholders to extend full support to Mr. Mutyaba in his new role.
“We are pleased to announce that Mr. Bashir Mutyaba has been appointed as the new Football Development Director of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), effective 1st August 2025.”
“Mr. Mutyaba, previously a member of FUFA’s Development Department, has been instrumental in youth football development and is well positioned to drive continuity and adoption of ongoing FUFA, CAF and FIFA programmes,” the statement read.
FUFA also confirmed that FIFA has been notified of the appointment and responded positively.
