Mbarara youth leader Denmark Beinomugisha tragically dies after declaring interest for MP seat

The late Denmark Adious Beinonmugisha, former Bishop Stuart Guild President and FDC youth leader, who died after a tragic hotel staircase fall.

Mbarara, Uganda: Former Bishop Stuart University Guild President and Mbarara City Youth leader, Denmark Adious Beinomugisha, has died following a tragic fall down a hotel staircase, reports confirmed this week.

Beinomugisha, who was recently nominated as a parliamentary candidate for the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) for Mbarara City South, reportedly slipped and sustained critical injuries that claimed his life shortly after entering active politics.

Widely known as a vocal youth figure in Mbarara, Beinomugisha first made national headlines as a Guild President at Bishop Stuart University, where he led politically active students.

He entered the race for Western Uganda Youth MP in 2021 under the FDC banner, campaigning amid allegations of voter irregularities, but never secured the seat.

Beinomugisha was nominated to represent the party in the upcoming 2026 general elections for the Member of Parliament seat in Mbarara City South Division during the recent regional Ankole PFF conference that was held on 30th July.

Following his sudden death, party leaders and activist networks have begun mourning the loss of a promising, outspoken young politician. “He was intelligent, courageous, and principled, a rare voice for youth empowerment in southwestern Uganda,” said one Mugisha, a senior FDC and PFF party ally, mournfully.

By press time, there has yet to be an official confirmation regarding the circumstances or location of the fall, and authorities have yet to release a full investigative report or autopsy findings. A formal statement from the family is expected in the coming hours.
