Nakasongola, Uganda: Hon. Kimuli Louis, a prominent youth leader in Kampala, has intensified his campaign for the Central Youth MP slot (2026–2031) with a sweeping tour across the region, rallying mass support from delegates ahead of the 2025 NRM Youth League elections scheduled for later this month at Kololo.

Currently Vice-Chairperson of the NRM Youth League in Rubaga, Kimuli wrapped up his latest leg of engagements in Nakasongola on Tuesday, capping off what he described as a “transformative and unifying journey” with party delegates.

Over the past weeks, the youthful entrepreneur and businessman has covered nearly 90% of districts in the Central Region, traversing Kayunga, Mukono, Mubende, Nakasongola, Luwero, Wakiso, Entebbe, Kampala, Buikwe, Kassanda, and several others.

His tour has focused on listening to grassroots concerns, uniting youth under the NRM’s wealth creation agenda, and inspiring a generation ready to lead.

Speaking to delegates in Nakasongola, Kimuli reaffirmed his commitment to championing youth empowerment through entrepreneurship, skills training, and inclusive participation in governance.

“Our generation cannot wait to be handed opportunities — we must create them, defend them, and ensure they reach every young person in our communities,” he said. “This campaign is not just about winning a seat; it is about setting the pace for a youth-led transformation in Uganda’s political and economic future.”

Kimuli’s entrepreneurial background has shaped his campaign priorities, which include fostering innovation hubs in each district, advocating for greater access to youth capital, and building partnerships to bridge the gap between education and job creation.

How the NRM Youth MP Flag Bearer is Elected

The election of the NRM Youth MP flag bearers is conducted through a structured electoral college system comprising approximately 3,500 youth delegates from across the region. This electoral college includes representatives from district and sub-county youth councils, current youth leagues, and other recognised youth structures within the NRM framework.

These delegates vote during the party primaries to select the official flag bearer who will represent the party in the subsequent national parliamentary elections. The process is highly competitive, as candidates must secure the trust and confidence of a wide network of youth leaders who are seen as the voice of young people in their respective constituencies.

As the NRM Youth League elections draw closer, observers say Kimuli’s extensive grassroots reach and clear development agenda place him among the strongest contenders for the Central Region Youth MP seat.
