Buyende, Uganda: The Musevenomics programme, aimed at transforming Uganda’s economy by 2040, has officially been launched in Buyende District, with leaders and residents urged to adopt its seven philosophical pillars in shaping local development plans.
The launch, held on Wednesday, August 13, at Buyende District Headquarters under the coordination of the Uganda Development Forum (UDF), brought together district leaders, government representatives, and development advocates to promote structured planning from the parish level upwards.
Dr. Katende Edward, UDF’s Executive Director, underscored the importance of aligning grassroots action plans with Musevenomics’ seven philosophical pillars: rationality, reasonability, realism, adaptability, logic, creativity, and innovation.
“We want leaders to take this message to the parish level so they can design action plans that the government will integrate into national budgeting,” Dr. Katende said, stressing that such structured development would accelerate progress.
Uganda’s Ambassador to Germany, Mubiru Stephen, who officiated the launch, challenged residents to focus on economic transformation rather than political divides.
“This is not a political programme, it’s about our economy. Unless we get serious about development, we will not progress. The problem is not President Museveni; it is us, the people, who politicise everything,” Mubiru said.
Buyende LCV Chairperson, Mr. Kanaku Michael, called on the government to prioritise continuous community sensitisation. RDC Akello Betty echoed the call, urging residents to shift their mindset towards embracing development initiatives.
The event was attended by all local leaders from Buyende District, signalling a unified commitment to implementing Musevenomics at the grassroots level.
