Kololo, Kampala: Preparations are in high gear for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Delegates’ Conference 2025, with steering committees already rolling out plans to ensure the smooth hosting of the event, expected to attract over 25,000 leaders from across the country.
During a high-level planning session at Kololo Independence Grounds on Monday, the NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong urged the committees to exceed past performance and deliver a highly disciplined and well-coordinated conference.
“My expectations from the organizing committee are to do a much better job than before. They should be much more committed to their work and make sure that the conference is successful at all levels,” Todwong said.
SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, who heads the Office of the NRM National Chairman, challenged members to diligently execute their responsibilities, warning that their collective output would determine the credibility of the gathering.
“This is not an individual show. Each of you has a role to play, and the success of the Delegates’ Conference will depend on how committed we all are,” Namyalo stressed.

Accreditation of delegates is already ongoing at the Nakawa ICT Center ahead of the grand convergence at Kololo, with security and protocol subcommittees working in tandem with the Secretariat to ensure order.
Hon. Emmanuel Dombo, NRM Director of Communication and spokesperson for the organizing team, confirmed that the oversight committee is chaired by First National Vice Chairman Al Hajji Moses Kigongo, with day-to-day operations directly supervised by Secretary General Todwong.
“We are doing all this on behalf of the National Chairman, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is also the President of the Republic of Uganda,” Dombo said.
Top NRM officials, including Deputy Secretary General Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, National Treasurer, Hon. Amb. Barbara Nekesa, Deputy National Treasurer, Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, Director of Mobilization, Dr. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, Director of Finance and Administration, Hajjat Medina Naham, and NRM EC Commissioner Driwaru Zaitun attended the planning meeting, reaffirming the centrality of the conference in setting the political tone ahead of the 2026 general elections.
