Kampala, Uganda: Kampala Property mogul Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has unveiled RR Pearl Tower One, a 25-storey Grade A office tower on Yusuf Lule Road, adding the initials “RR” in the tower’s name in honor of his late son Rajiv Ruparelia, who tragically died in a car accident on May 3, 2025.
The tower, a first phase of the Pearl Business Park project, is set to transform Kampala’s central business district with modern office spaces, conferencing facilities, and premium amenities. Beyond its architectural significance, it stands as a living memorial to Rajiv, remembered for his energy, vision, and active role in the family business.
Speaking briefly at the unveiling of the Kampala Landmark tower, Sudhir described the building as “more than a structure; a symbol of memory and hope.” His wife, Jyotsna Ruparelia, lit a symbolic candle during the unveiling of the plaque, reinforcing the tower’s personal and emotional significance for the Ruparelia family.

Prior to his tragic passing, Rajiv had been involved in several of the family’s ventures across real estate, hospitality, and philanthropy, and was widely regarded as “the modern face of the Ruparelia empire.” Friends and colleagues said his innovative approach and dedication marked him as a rising leader in Uganda’s business community.
RR Pearl Tower One is expected to boost Kampala’s economy, creating jobs, attracting businesses, and offering high-end commercial spaces for local and international tenants.

For the Ruparelia family, it ensures that Rajiv’s vision, spirit, and aspirations continue to shape the cityscape.
The tower now stands as both a landmark for Kampala and a memorial for a young life cut short, blending modernity with memory, commercial ambition with familial devotion, and keeping Rajiv Ruparelia’s legacy alive in the city he sought to impact.
