Kampala, Uganda: All CAF tickets for the CHAN 2024 Quarter Final clash between Uganda Cranes and Senegal at Namboole Stadium on Saturday, August 23, are officially sold out, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has confirmed.
In a brief statement shared on Thursday afternoon, Dr. Dennis Mugimba, Chairperson of the Communications and Signage Subcommittee for AFCON/CHAN-LOC, confirmed the sell-out, signalling a high demand for the historic quarterfinal fixture at Namboole.
“As at 2:55 p.m. this afternoon of 21st August 2025, all the Match Day CAF online tickets for the 5 p.m. CHAN-2024 Quarter Final match of 23rd August 2025 at Namboole stadium for Uganda vs. Senegal are sold out,” Dr. Mugimba stated.
The announcement by Dr Mugimba did not sit well with Ugandan fans, who had to endure the hustle and a test of patience in booking the online ticketing platform since the portal opened the match-ticket sales on Wednesday.
A number of fans were, however, left frustrated with Mugimba’s confirmation of the ticket sell-out, after spending hours in the queue, just like it happened with the Uganda vs South Africa match.
“You are now in line. Thank you for your patience. Your estimated wait time is 5 hours and 12 minutes,” read one of the messages that greeted buyers on the CAF ticketing portal by Thursday afternoon.
Dr Mugimba has since cautioned fans not to fall victim to fraudsters, saying tickets are only bought through the portal chan.tkt.ug, and no physical tickets have been provided. “If you buy tickets from anywhere else, you’re either buying fake or duplicate tickets at your own risk,” he warned.
